Set Adrift and Seize the Day (Bible Journal)

I'm part of Post A Day 2016

Adrift

Luke 9:62  Jesus said, No procrastination. No backward looks. You can’t put God’s kingdom off till tomorrow. Seize the day.

Luke 9:62

It can be easy to let ourselves get weighed down by the mundane, routine things in life.

We have to wake up every morning before we want to.

We have to put on those fancy shoes for work rather than our comfortable slippers.

We have to wash a sink full of dishes….again!

God wants us to seize the day. He instructs us to not dwell on the past OR worry about tomorrow!

How are we doing on that? I don’t know about you, but I still worry. I still think about the mistakes I’ve made in the past. I may not DWELL on them, but they are still part of me.

Today, I have a goal of living in the moment! I will not think about my past mistakes (God has already forgiven those). I will not worry about tomorrow (God already has that planned).

Today, when I wake up, I will appreciate the smell of coffee as my day begins early. I will take a minute to enjoy the sunrise and pray for a peaceful day.

Today, as I replace my comfortable pajamas and slippers for an outfit and shoes for the day, I will remember my body is a temple of the holy spirit. I will take an extra moment to put a little more effort in my appearance.

Today, as I wash that sink full of dishes, I will pause and enjoy the lavender scent of my dish soap.

I am blessed in knowing that God has my life under control–because I sure don’t!

He has gifted me with the freedom to just set adrift and seize the day!

It’s time to let go and do just that!

With Aloha,

Lacy

  1. Amen. I surely have been seizing the day, everyday! I even made my first sale last night with Younique, just when I thought I was doing it all wrong. Now I just need a sign that reminds me to just put it in God’s hands. Very good read!

    1. That’s awesome! I’m so proud of you stepping out and taking that new journey. Don’t give up even you don’t get that “sign” you are looking for. God works in his own timing…it may not be obvious to us but He is in control no matter what!
