Capilano Suspension Bridge

I'm part of Post A Day 2016

My response to the photo challenge: Bridge

I’ll never forget my first trip out of the country. My husband and I took a weekend trip to  Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. My favorite stop was at the Capilano Suspension Bridge.

This by far, is still the most impressive bridge I’ve ever walked on.

The current bridge is 140 metres (460 ft) long and 70 metres (230 ft) above the Capilano River.

I have to admit, it was a bit scary to cross.

I was a few months pregnant with my first child and I remember “mommy mode” kicking in and I was questioning if I should walk across it or not. Luckily, my husband had his typical response for everything, “it’s fine” and I made the trip across. It was incredible!

I wonder what my little “Dinosaur” would think of this bridge now! I hope we get to make another trip back there some day! There were several other bridges through the treetops which I think my kids would find so fun!

If you get to Canada, I highly suggest you take some time to check this spot out!

  1. This is my home town! The place I grew up 😊 If you ever go back visit Lynn Canyon. It is not far away and very beautiful also with a similar bridge.
