Tasty Tuesday
Almond Milk Hot Cocoa
If you are like my family, we have been enjoying hot cocoa almost every night since the calendar changed to December! Some nights we do instant hot cocoa. But, on special nights, we make Almond Milk Hot Cocoa!
*Makes 4 servings*
Ingredients:
- 4 cups of almond milk
- 4 tbs of almond butter
- 6 tbs of cocoa powder
Instructions;
- in a saucepan, mix the almond milk and cocoa powder as it slowly heats up
- use a wisk to slowly mix it together until the cocoa is melted and it has a smooth texture
- remove it from the heat and add the almond butter
- stir until blended
- pour into 4 cups and enjoy!
In theory, this is a pretty healthy hot cocoa option. Unfortunately, I think we ruin it because we like to dip a candy cane or plop some marshmallows in our hot cocoa.
What do you add to make it special?
With Aloha,
Lacy
Sounds good! Might have to try this!

I have never tried the almond butter before I am going to have the kids try that one, coincidentally too, we have been drinking hot cocoa couple days now. My youngest take it as a habit in the evenings to ask for some hot cocoa; then everybody drinks. (unfortunately, we take the unhealthy route sometimes marshmallows and wipe cream.)

I gave in and bought the little mini marshmallows that come in a sprinkle container. They don’t look as sticky! Hope they are good! I haven’t tried it with whip cream!
