It is Well with My Soul

I'm part of Post A Day 2016

Wellness Wednesday

Wednesday’s are devoted to finding a healthier well-being. Whether it be physically or mentally.

Today, I want to share with you my secret weapon for putting my mind at ease.

Some days, I just need to take it back….way back…to my favorite childhood hymn. “It Is Well With My Soul.”

I searched all over the internet this morning and found my favorite version. Please take a moment, sit back, close your eyes, open your heart and take in this beautiful rendition.

Warning: I usually end up with tears in my eyes about mid-way through…

It is well with my soul

Lyrics

When peace like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say
It is well, it is well, with my soul

It is well
With my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul

It is well (it is well)
With my soul (with my soul)
It is well, it is well with my soul

My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, o my soul

It is well (it is well)
With my soul (with my soul)
It is well, it is well with my soul

It is well (it is well)
With my soul (with my soul)
It is well, it is well with my soul

One of the comments on this video stated:

This song was written by Horatio Spafford in 1873. He was a prominent lawyer in New York. He decided to take vacation to England; His 4 daughters and wife were sailing ahead of him for he had to stay back for business. The ship was struck by another vessell and killed all 4 daughters. His wife survived the accident and after reaching England telegrammed him saying “Saved alone”. On his way over to console his wife, and about the location of the deaths of his daughters, he penned this song.

Isn’t this just beautiful? Notice the singer with the tear dripping down his cheek at the end…Have a blessed day my friends! Be well in your soul!

It is Well

With Aloha,

Lacy
