Faith

Fill My Heart with Your Love (bible journal) 3 minute read

I'm part of Post A Day 2016

Ephesians 3:19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

If you’re like me, then you probably find yourself wondering why life can be so hard at times. We can find ourselves face to face with fear, worry and doubt…I have shared with you my situations of this recently in fact.

I’ve come to realize, whenever I am experiencing these feelings, it is because I’m not putting my faith first like I should.

I need to seek Christ before anything else in order to experience a life of peace.

This is something I need reminded of quite often. I consider myself a pretty decent Christian. However, the devil is constantly after my heart trying to win me over to his side. I have found my biggest defense is to seek out God’s wisdom each and every day by spending time with Him first thing in the morning.

God is never to busy for me…I need to not be too busy for Him.

The days I spend time in the word, are the days I find myself feeling the best.

I want to see life the way God sees life. I want to find the good in each day. I want to look at a person and the first thing I think of is how much God loves that person.

I want to be Enamored in His love. I want to allow Him to fill my heart with so much love that it overflows onto those around me!

God equips us with the tools to be happy and successful in life. We just need to do our part and seek His guidance. He has made the perfect path for us and He has promised to be with us every step of the way.

So, why is it that, even when I know this to be true, I distance myself from God? That sounds pretty extreme, doesn’t it? But, when I worry, doubt or let fear into my life, that’s exactly what I’m doing-distancing myself from Him.

As obvious as that sounds, I’ve never thought of it like that before.

God will be by my side no matter what life throws at me. It is with Him holding my hand that I can view these situations as He does. When I grab ahold of His hand and let Him guide my thoughts/actions and do things His way, I know I am getting set up for His plan for me.

The bible says in Jeremiah 29:11For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

I have these Legos sitting in my Coffee Bar to help me remember this truth every morning.

My church’s’ worship team, New Hope Oahu, has a few amazing music albums out. One of the songs that has hit the top music charts is from their album: Future and Hope. It speaks of the promises God gives us.

Here are some of the lyrics:

Our God over all, our future is in you. All fear and all doubt are lost in your presence.

When all else fades away, your promises will remain!

Our God is with us. Never forsaken! We have a promise. We have a future. Our God is for us. Greater within us. We have a promise. We have a future and a hope!

Our fear is not faith. You’ve lead us to stay here. We hold to your plan our trust is in you!

Check out the music video (you can see some of my church family and friends creating a mural which was used for the CD cover and still stands symbolically on the side of our church today: Future and A Hope  You can actually buy this song on iTunes if you find it as encouraging as I do. The link is above as well.

The line that hits me hard this morning, is

“our fear is not faith!”

Think about that…are we letting fear step into our lives when it should be filled with faith? Are we letting fear and doubt prevent us from being filled with God’s love to the point that it overflows onto those around us?

I want the slogan for this season of my life to be like the old t-shirt brand “No Fear”

Going forward into today, I will have no fear…only faith!

Friends, is there something in your life right now that is causing you to put fear before faith? What is preventing YOU from letting God’s love overflow from you?

Join me with the heart cry of “No Fear…Only Faith”!
