Today, I had enough of being cooped up inside the house. So, I grabbed my Little Ladybug and we headed out to the Oahu Urban Garden. It’s been a few years since we’ve been there. And, believe it or not, she didn’t even remember that we had been there before!
It was just what I needed today: A Mommy ‘N Ladybug Adventure!
The clouds were hanging on over us. But, we didn’t let that stop us. We took our time and examined each garden and even completed the scavenger hunt they have for kids.
Here’s a glimpse of what you will find at the Oahu Urban Gardens:
Red-hot cat tail plant. They felt so soft!
Sundial Garden
The Sensory Garden had several different plants that would tickle your senses. We had fun smelling them all. This was a spearmint plant.
There were so many fun things to see hidden around the various gardens.
My favorite garden was the Pizza Garden. This pie-shaped garden consisted of different pizza ingredients: onion, olives, tomatoes, basil, pineapple, peppers, etc. It was fun to walk through it and teach Lady Bug about each plant. However, I am very hungry for pizza now!
The caterpillar tunnel was a fun addition to the Butterfly Garden
I will never get tired of discovering new flowers in Hawaii. There are so many! This was my favorite flower of the day. A Pink Quill. Native to Ecuador.
Hawaii IS known as the filming location for Jurrasic Park. But, we were very surprised to find our very own dinosaurs today!
Ladybug had fun leading me through the maze (there were a few mazes actually). I kept acting like we were lost and she was giggling and giggling showing me how to find our way through to the end.
This was Ladybugs favorite area. She enjoyed “watering” the plants and playing in the playhouse.
And, although we had a great time, we were reminded someone had a rough day! hehe
I’m so glad we decided to venture out today.
We lucked out and missed the rain. But, as you can see, it was coming!!!
The Oahu Urban Gardens are located in Pearl City, HI. If you are able to visit, stop by the office to sign in. You will be given a map and a scavenger hunt (which was really fun). You can also leave a donation if you so choose to.
I am a military wife, a mother, a hiker, a dog lover, a refurbisher, a reader, a drawer, a baker...whatever I can do to enjoy life is what you will catch me doing!

Hi Lacy, I enjoy reading your post. I have started writing my post about Hawaii travel on my blog. I took a lot of pictures with my DSLR and I have a photography website up and running with the pictures from Hawaii and other places I have been visiting. Do check my site out at http://www.sugunaganeshan.com.
Great post! Loved the gardens💚
We just went I our local botanical garden in Tucson but it was a very “adult event”! I did a post on it on my blog if you are interested 😊
I grew up in Nebraska so the concept of an “urban garden” was new to me when we moved to Hawaii. I think they are so cool-especially in a city this size! This one in particular was tailored for kids. But, it was done in a way that even adults can enjoy it! I love how it can draw the community together!
I would love to see your pictures (and hear more about this “adult event!” 😉
I’m reminded of that every time I look out my window and see this paradise God gave us! And to be able to call this home?!?!? Truly blessed! And, I’m so grateful!
Lovely photos

It was really cool! My Ladybug thought it was fun to see each ingredient how it would be before it gets put on our pizza!
