If you’re looking for a simple, aesthetic way to elevate your small plants, this DIY mini plant stand is perfect. It’s beginner-friendly, affordable, and adds a natural, modern touch to any space.
Materials You’ll Need
- A small piece of wood (square or round, mine was about 6X9″)
- Wooden beads (about 1–1.5 inches in diameter) I used 2 types-the beads I used on the base were flat to keep it level. The other beads were rounded.
- Strong wood glue or super glue
- Sandpaper (medium to fine grit)
- Paint or stain with a brush and paint tray

Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prep Your Wood Base
Start by sanding your wood (with the grain) until it’s smooth on all sides. This helps remove splinters and gives a clean finish.
Tip: I somewhat rounded the edges to give it a softer, modern look.
2. Plan Your Leg Placement
Flip the wood upside down and glue 4 beads in each corner for a balanced, table-like look.
3. Attach the Wooden Beads
Working in small sections, apply a line of glue near the edge of the wood and press the beads, one at a time, firmly along the glue line. Then, continue adding to the line and adding the wooden beads until the entire outline of the wood is lined.
Hold each one in place for a few seconds, then let everything dry completely (follow glue instructions—usually 30–60 minutes for strong hold).
4. Paint or Stain (Optional)
Once dry, you can leave it natural or customize it:
- Paint it white or black for a modern vibe
- Use wood stain for a rustic look
- Try two-tone (base one color, beads another)-If you do this, I recommend painting the base board BEFORE attaching your beads.
Let dry fully before use.
5. Seal It (Optional but Recommended)
Apply a clear sealant to protect against moisture—especially if you’re placing real plants on it.
Styling Tips
- Perfect for succulents, small pots, mason jar vases or even candles
- Works great on shelves, desks, or windowsills

I did this craft for girls night. I love their own styles!

Which color combination is your favorite? Or would you stain yours? Drop a pic if you make one! I’d love to see it!
