Walking in Papa’s Footsteps

One of the most heart touching moments of my life was watching my 10-month old son walking hand in hand with my dad along the shore of Bainbridge Island, WA.

Words can’t begin to express the emotions that washed over me. I fight back the tears even now, 7 years later, when I stop and look at this moment captured.

So much love.

So much pride.

My son had just started walking shortly before my dad came to visit us in Washington from Nebraska. From the time I was a little girl, I wanted to be a mother. To see my dad walking hand in hand with MY baby was a moment I had waited for for so very long.
